Debra comes with a wealth of leadership experience including serving as an elementary principal for 22 years (most recently at Long Lots Elementary School in Westport, Connecticut) and as superintendent of a small school district in York, Maine for five years.
In addition, her work experience includes serving as a classroom teacher at the elementary and middle school levels and as curriculum director.
Debra has also worked as an adjunct professor for various education graduate programs on the East Coast and holds a doctoral degree in leadership in education from the University of Massachusetts. She has completed post-doctorate work at Harvard School of Business and Graduate School of Education as well as the Teachers College at Columbia University.
Debra is a student-centered leader, focused on equity and ensuring that every student feels a sense of belonging and success. Additionally, Debra has an exceptional ability to build collaborative relationships with staff, students and families.
