Welcome to Reading Club, a supplementary program designed to enhance reading skills. We focus on evidence-based practices and materials using a structured literacy format emphasizing explicit, systematic instruction to empower students. Our goal is to boost literacy skills and instill a love for reading. I'm excited to join you and your child on this literacy journey!

I began my teaching career in 1986 in a first-grade classroom after graduating from Indiana University. Since then, I've worked in various educational settings, spanning general education, special education, and intervention across grades K-8 nationwide. I have furthered my education with a graduate-level Special Education Endorsement from West Virginia University and a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Lesley University.

Outside the classroom, you'll often find me immersed in the pages of a good book, strolling along the serene shores of Manitou Beach, or sharing the practice of yoga. I grew up near Chicago and have lived all over the country, but since 2001, I've found my home on Bainbridge Island. I am continually inspired by my own three children, our remarkable Bainbridge Island School District community, and the extraordinary natural beauty that surrounds us.
