Principal's Note

Dear Ordway Families and Staff,

As another school year draws to a close, I want to pause and say, simply: thank you.

To our faculty and staff-your dedication this year has been extraordinary. You brought energy and care to your work every single day, and the impact you have had on our children is immeasurable. Please enjoy a well-deserved summer. You have given so much.

To our families-thank you for your trust and your partnership. You are the backbone of this community. Every encouraging word to a teacher, every child sent to school ready and loved, every moment of grace during a difficult stretch-it all matters more than you know.

And to our children-you made every bit of this worthwhile. Watching you learn, grow, stumble, and rise again has been the privilege of a lifetime. Sending warmest wishes to our fourth graders going to Sakai and especially staff and families leaving Ordway-please promise to come back and visit!

The Ordway community is very special and it doesn't happen by accident-it is built by all of you, one day and one act of kindness at a time.

Wishing everyone a wonderful summer with family and friends.

Best,

Debra

Negative School Lunch Account Balances

It’s time to clear the negative balances on your child’s school lunch account so that you can start the new school year with a clean slate. The last day cash/check will be accepted in the office is June 16th. Online payments are accepted at any time.

All balances, negative or positive, are carried over to the new year. If you have money left on your child’s account you can leave it for them to use next year.
If you would like to know the balance on your child’s account please look on Skyward (Instructions HERE) or give the Ordway Office a call: 206-842-7637.

Remember, to pay for your child’s breakfast & lunch you can always:
  • Send in a check (Ordway Elementary) or cash to be applied to your child’s account.
  • Log into InTouch and make a credit card payment or call or visit the office to process a credit card. The Ordway Office can now take Food Service payments by credit card OVER the phone or IN person with our new card reader!
  • Pre-charge their accounts by using any of these methods.
Lastly, here is information about the Free and Reduced Lunch program.
If you qualify, be sure to renew your status EACH YEAR in September for seamless enrollment in the program.

ABC's

Please complete your ABC's

Ordway's ABC's are 47% complete, just above the district average. Help boost our completion percentage! Get it done!

Our Annual Back to school Check-in process (ABC) is now open and is available by logging in to your Family Access account. Look in the left menu and choose: ABC 26-27 to move through the steps to complete this process ASAP.
It should take about 15 minutes (or less!) to complete the process for each child in your household.

If you know your student will not attend BISD in the fall, please let us know by contacting the Ordway office, sdunstan@bisd303.org or by sending an email to: studentrecords@bisd303.org with your educational plan so that we may adjust our records accordingly.

Summer Pantry Bags Available Through Helpline House

As we near Summer Break, we want to ensure every student in our community stays fueled and ready for fun! Helpline House, in partnership with Bainbridge Island Rotary, is proud to offer the Kids’ Pantry program to provide supplemental groceries for local families. These bags are for any youth (ages infancy-18) in need of additional food during the summer break. Bags contain enough food for 1 youth for a week.
Pick-Up Information
If your family could benefit from extra groceries over the summer, you can stop by for a pick-up:
  • Location: Helpline House | 282 Knechtel Way NE
  • Dates: Monday – Friday
  • Time: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Delivery Options:
We know that work schedules and transportation can sometimes make it difficult to get to Helpline House. If you are unable to make it during pick-up hours, Rotary volunteers are available to deliver groceries directly to your home.

To Register for Delivery:
Please contact Sarah Frost, sfrost@bisd303.org, to coordinate a drop-off time that works for your family.
