Hello Ordway Families,
We’ve entered the dark, wet season of the year, and as a result, we have moved into the gym for the next few months. Students are transitioning into collaborative games that build on the throwing, catching, and running skills we focused on earlier this year.
Working together in these activities can be challenging, especially with students of varying skill levels. We are focusing on recognizing our individual differences and learning how to participate in physical activities respectfully and inclusively. Our emphasis is on teamwork, good sportsmanship, kindness, and encouragement.
We encourage you to talk with your children about these qualities and what they look like in the PE classroom. I look forward to working with all of your children this winter.
Sincerely,
Nick Wheeler
Ordway PE Specialist

Parade of Condiments - Recap
|
Last week's Parade of Condiments was a HUGE success! In total, we donated 1,046 lbs of condiments and needed supplies to Helpline House. Our hearts were so full watching all of our kids walk through the halls and out to the bus with backpacks and hands full of donations.
Thank you to the PTO, teachers, and volunteers for adjusting plans and expectations to accommodate our 2024 parade—Construction Zone style! Your flexibility ensured that this cherished Ordway giving tradition remained meaningful for our students.

Please send any gently used or new children’s books to the Ordway Library. We need hardcover or paperback novels; fiction, non-fiction, and picture books. The 4th-grade student council will wrap up all the books and conduct a whole school Mystery Book Exchange in December. This project is student-led and they are excited to start wrapping the books. This is a great time to clean bookshelves and ask neighbors and friends for books. We will need close to 400 children’s books. Thank you for your support!

Did you know that you can subscribe to the Ordway public calendar on Parent Square? It's one more way to stay connected with the events at Ordway.
The events shared are those that affect a majority of the school during the school day (like Otter-Trot) or in the evening for families (like Back-to-School Night).
Classroom specific deadlines, after school activities or field trips are not displayed on the shared public calendar.

Lost and Found will be donated on 12/20. Please come and check the rack. We comb the rack weekly for items with names - these all do not have names! Come take a look.
