Counselor's Corner
Changing Families Group

Ordway students whose families are experiencing or have experienced separation, divorce, or remarriage may find that these changes bring strong emotions that can interfere with schoolwork, social adjustment, and friendships. While some children feel sadness, others may withdraw or express their emotions through anger.

It can be helpful for students to connect with peers facing similar experiences and to talk with someone who is not emotionally involved in their family situation. Ordway Counselor Janette Dodge will be offering support groups for students in first through fourth grade. These groups will meet once a week for six weeks during lunchtime, starting the first week of March.

If you are interested in having your child participate or have any questions, please contact Janette Dodge at (206) 780-1455 or jdodge@bisd303.org by February 27.
