attendance matters

Attendance Matters!

This February, our attendance focus has been “I Belong Here,” as part of our Show Up & Show Out campaign. We’re highlighting how caring relationships with teachers and staff help young students feel welcomed, connected, and supported at school.
Small, everyday moments—like greeting students by name, checking in after an absence, and offering encouragement—help children feel safe and valued. When students feel they belong, they are more likely to enjoy school, show up each day, and engage in learning.
A strong sense of belonging supports academic success and student well-being. At BISD, EVERY student and EVERY family are valued. Together, we can create warm, welcoming school communities where every child knows they matter—and that we are better when they are here.
Congratulations Ordway - 94% of students have attended 90% of the school year!
